Erin has been tending the threshold for decades, as a death doula and educator based in Denver, Colorado.

Her early evolution into this work emerged at the intersection of her experience as a birth doula, nurse’s aide, and hospice volunteer. She saw the tenderness and preparation we offered as life entered the world, compared to the lack of similar care as we prepared to leave it.

That gap became the beginning of her life’s work. Erin began offering dying people and their families the same informed, compassionate, hands-on support we so willingly offer at birth. In 2019, she brought a funeral director onto her team and founded Deathwives. Over the next six years, Deathwives would serve thousands of people through death education and end-of-life care.

In 2022, Erin was invited to the TEDxMileHigh stage, where she spoke to an audience of 3,000 about caring for our loved ones all the way until the end. In 2024, she founded Death Ed with Erin, where her work now spans direct end-of-life care, community education, and professional training. Today, she supports individuals and families through dying, death, and grief; teaches everywhere from living rooms to stages; and leads Deathschool Evolved, her comprehensive death doula training program.

Erin’s approach is warm, practical, and grounded in the belief that there is no single right way to die. Clients can expect a seasoned, approachable professional who knows how to lead people through the darkest of times with warmth and steadiness. She will meet you where you are, tell you the truth, help you navigate what comes next, and stay beside you until the end.
