I’m Sara Zoldan, the Jewish Death Doula. I believe goodbye can be a gift, and that the words too often saved for funerals should be said while we still have time together.

I work with people nearing the end of life who want to make the most of the time they have left — to say the things that matter, celebrate the people they love, and create a goodbye that feels deeply personal and true to who they are. My work is centered on legacy, love, and living celebrations of life, rather than end-of-life logistics.

Through Design Your Goodbye, I help you turn the ideas in your head into an actual plan for your own living celebration of life. Together, we explore who you want there, how you want it to feel, what you want to say, and what you want people to remember. The experience includes a 90-minute planning session, planning resources, and a 45-minute follow-up call before the big day.

For those who want more hands-on support, The Goodbye Experience takes that vision further. Together, we create a celebration that feels completely and unapologetically you, and I handle the planning and bring the experience to life. You can be as involved or as hands-off as you want.

Jewish tradition and ritual are also an important part of who I am and how I see this work. I bring curiosity, honesty, humor, and a willingness to have the conversations people often avoid. Death is serious, but that doesn’t mean every conversation around it has to be solemn.

Ultimately, my work is about helping people be witnessed and celebrated while they are still here — creating space to say what matters, honor a life as it is being lived, and design a goodbye that feels meaningful, intentional, and entirely your own.
